Using a variety of equipment, such as large Helmholtz coils, solenoid magnets, and specially-designed underwater speakers, we are able to simulate modelled electromagnetic fields and sound scenarios which may be introduced to the marine environment through the construction and running of Marine Renewable Energy Devices (MREDs). It is important to understand whether introduction of such factors through MRED development could impact marine life.
